LIMPOPO TOURISM AGENCY HIGHLIGHTS TOURISM INVESTMENT AND GOLF TOURISM THROUGH LIC 2026

Polokwane, Limpopo -The Limpopo Tourism Agency  welcomes the call to translate investment pledges into sustainable employment, enterprise development and economic growth, advanced at the sixth Limpopo Investment Conference held at The Ranch Resort in Polokwane on 15 October 2026.

Convened under the theme “From Pledges to Progress: Accelerating Implementation and Unlocking Investment in Limpopo”, the conference brought together government, investors, business leaders and development partners. Deputy President Paul Mashatile delivered the keynote address, with Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba addressing delegates.

Deputy President Mashatile emphasised that investment commitments must result in operational projects, thriving businesses and sustainable jobs. He called for stronger partnerships between government, investors and development finance institutions to remove obstacles, accelerate implementation and ensure that investment benefits communities and local enterprises.

In her closing address, Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba announced that Limpopo had secured investment pledges of approximately R138.4 billion, exceeding the conference’s R120 billion target. She emphasised that the work must continue beyond the announcement of pledges, with implementation directed towards job creation, economic growth and community benefits.

For LTA, these messages reinforce the importance of tourism investment that delivers lasting economic opportunities. Investment in accommodation, attractions, cultural heritage, visitor experiences and supporting infrastructure can strengthen destination competitiveness while expanding opportunities for local tourism enterprises and suppliers.

The conference programme also included the launch of the InvestSA One Stop Shop Limpopo at the Limpopo Tourism Agency premises. The facility is intended to support investors in accessing government services, navigating regulatory processes and addressing administrative obstacles to investment.

The LIC Golf Day, held on 16 October 2026 at Euphoria Golf & Lifestyle Estate, extended the conference engagements into one of Limpopo’s established golf and leisure destinations. Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba attended the prize giving ceremony, concluding a day that combined stakeholder engagement with a showcase of the province’s golf tourism offering.

The golf day provided an opportunity for continued interaction among participants while demonstrating Limpopo’s capacity to complement business events with quality hospitality, sport and leisure experiences.

Golf tourism supports a wider visitor economy, creating opportunities for accommodation establishments, restaurants, transport operators, event organisers and recreational businesses. Integrating these experiences into business event programmes can encourage longer stays, repeat visits and wider exploration of the province.

LTA encourages conference delegates, investors and golfers to explore Limpopo’s diverse tourism offering, from wildlife and conservation to cultural heritage, adventure and leisure.

The Agency remains committed to working with government, industry and tourism enterprises to strengthen Limpopo’s appeal as a destination for tourism investment, business events and travel, while expanding economic participation across the province.
