TZANEEN, LIMPOPO: The Chairperson of the Limpopo Tourism Agency Board, Mr Freddy Greaver, delivered the keynote address at the official opening of the third annual Explore Limpopo Tourism Market at Tzaneen Country Lodge on 10 September 2026.

Held from 10 to 11 September 2026, the two day business to business tourism trade platform was organised by the Limpopo Provincial Tourism Association, with funding support from the Limpopo Tourism Agency.
The event brought together tourism businesses, hosted buyers, exhibitors, government representatives, industry stakeholders and members of the media to showcase Limpopo’s diverse tourism offerings and facilitate meaningful business engagements.
In his keynote address, Mr Greaver emphasised the importance of collaboration between government and the private sector in growing the province’s tourism economy. He highlighted the role of platforms such as the Explore Limpopo Tourism Market in connecting local tourism enterprises with potential buyers, expanding market access and creating opportunities for sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
The Chairperson further reaffirmed LTA’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance the competitiveness of tourism businesses and strengthen Limpopo’s position as a leading domestic and regional tourism destination.
The first day featured exhibitions, panel discussions and business networking opportunities. The official opening ceremony concluded with a gala dinner hosted by the Greater Tzaneen Municipality. The occasion provided delegates with an opportunity to network while experiencing the municipality’s hospitality and cultural offerings.
Day Two commenced with speed marketing sessions, during which tourism product owners engaged directly with hosted buyers to showcase their offerings, establish commercial connections and explore potential partnerships.
The programme also enabled participants to exchange knowledge, discuss emerging tourism trends and identify opportunities for collaboration and growth within the sector.
The Market is complemented by a familiarisation tour that enables hosted buyers and media representatives to experience selected tourism products and attractions across the province. These experiences are intended to encourage the inclusion of Limpopo tourism offerings in future travel packages and destination marketing content.
The familiarisation tour will conclude on Saturday, 12 September 2026. International participants are expected to return to their respective countries on Sunday, 13 September 2026.
LTA views the Explore Limpopo Tourism Market as an important platform for advancing tourism transformation, promoting emerging enterprises and ensuring that the economic benefits generated by the sector extend to local communities.
Through its support of the event, the Agency continues to promote Limpopo as a destination distinguished by its wildlife, natural landscapes, cultural heritage, adventure experiences and warm hospitality.
While the formal business programme of the 2026 Explore Limpopo Tourism Market concluded on Friday, 11 September 2026, the broader programme will conclude with the familiarisation tour on Saturday, 12 September 2026.
